Off-Strip or Strip Hotels - What are the best value?
Choosing between hotels on and off The Strip in Las Vegas
will depend on your budget, your vacation expectations, and
your personal preference. If you do not like being in large,
rambling surroundings, then hotels with over a thousand
rooms
may not be your idea of a great accommodation. Likewise, if
you need babysitting service, the smaller hotels may not be
able to assist you. And if your holiday is dedicated to visiting
a specific theme, hotel or show, then you will choose that hotel
regardless of location.
One thing about Vegas is everyone is vying for your business.
This can only mean that deals are plentiful and you most likely
can find good value both on and off The Strip. But realistically,
big names like Bellagio, a five diamond hotel, and Caesars Palace,
ancient Rome in the US, are going to be expensive. And unless
you have decided to go all out and splurge, these hotels on
The Strip may not be the best value for you.
Further, there are many people who wish to avoid the types of
crowds the The Strip attracts. Kids on spring break, kids who
have just turned gambling or drinking age, divas and oglers
at topless pools, and all the other raucous party goers are
not welcome additions to a senior's vacation or a family holiday
with young children. Many are looking for clean, safe rooms
away from the crowded events of The Strip and for them, off-Strip
hotels are going to have the best value.
The traffic jams of The Strip will not be easy for some people
either. While standing on The Strip looking down, it is common
for people to think that they will just walk end to end. This
is a very long walking journey and in the searing heat of Las
Vegas, it is not a good idea for many people. And trying to
rent a car to drive in a city with so many people and vehicles
congested in one area will be difficult for most drivers used
to less active roads.
For anyone that cannot afford The Strip hotels, staying nearby
can be just as exciting, as many of the smaller hotels offer
complimentary shuttle service from the airport and to local
tourist attractions, in addition to having their own casinos
and shows. Interestingly, where many of the off-Strip hotels
sit, there is plenty of historical significance to the area
about which you may not hear if you stay on The Strip.
Finally, there are larger complexes that are even farther out,
like Sam's Town Hotel and Boulder Station Hotel Casino. Offering
fine dining, inexpensive snack bars, bowling alley, casinos,
childcare services, movie theater, swimming pool, light and
water show, dancing and regular celebrity entertainers, both
these way-off-Strip locations offer real value to their guests.
To find the best value for you, decide your preferences and
likes, then start looking.
